This is a really common concern. Timebanking is all about giving and receiving, and helping someone else means you save time when someone helps you!
Cooking extra food to share, inviting people to pick your lemons, or loaning out a tool doesn’t take much time at all.

This is another thing that comes up often.
We all have things to offer, and everyone has things they need. Simple things are often really valued!

It is similar in that no money changes hands but unlike bartering it’s not a direct trade: you log any time credits you earn in our Timebanking software, and use them however suits you.

Our user-friendly Timebanking software Time and Talents will keep track of them for you!

We'll teach you  how to use it - or just show you around if that's all you need.

You can access it on your phone, home computer, or a free computer at your local library. 

It's really important the person helping out is reimbursed if there are expenses involved in an exchange, e.g. fuel, ingredients, maintenance. Costs should be discussed before the exchange takes place, so everyone knows what's happening.

• Everyone has an in-depth 'Timebank Introduction' with the coordinator before being accepted as members.

• All members agree to our Code of Conduct.

• We do referee checks before accepting individual/whānau members.

• Note organisations/businesses don't need to provide referees as they already have safety protocols.

• Please feel comfortable to nominate meeting new people in a public place.

• The coordinator usually knows members - get in touch if you have any questions.

• Members are responsible for their own safety when using tools and equipment during exchanges eg ladders, power tools.

• Please make sure anything you ask another member to do is safe, legal and appropriate.

• Everyone should feel ok to say no to anything, at any time.
